We’re a holacratic organization and we strive to become a fully functional Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). This means that there are no old-school management structures or barriers to entry. Anyone can join or create a team (‘holon’), whether for-profit or nonprofit, and benefit from the support and technological infrastructure of the BITNATION community.

A Holon is something that is simultaneously a “part” and a “whole” and everyone can join and create their own operational centers (“holons”). This allows BITNATION to remain fluid, be autonomous and thus not limited or controlled by a centralized hierarchy. You can select more than one holon.

When you partner with BITNATION, you get access to all our teams, community, chats, and newsroom where you can post news directly to our Facebook and Twitter feeds.

We want to talk to you if you have a plan to radically disrupt the world.

You can suggest your own projects in the chat, and if there’s a consensus that it advances our movement for voluntary DIY Governance movement, it can be funded through our Backfeed integration!

EMBASSIES & CONSULATES

EVEN US, CHILDREN OF THE NET, VIRTUAL CITIZENS; SOMETIME NEED A SAFE LOCATION TO MEET; LIVE AND LOVE. Share your space, whether it’s an office, coffee shop or your home, and open it up for your fellow hackers and crypto aficionados around the world! Imagine always having a place to go, even in new countries, where you feel safe and can live and work with like-minded people.

There are two types of places, Embassies and Consulates:

EMBASSY

A place where you can both live, and work (and naturally, meet)

CONSULATE

A place where you can work – like a shared office space, for instance – or maybe organise a meetup or a hangout

AMBASSADOR

When BITNATION was established, we had a distinct group called “Ambassadors” which were various type of Contributors from Application developers, to writers, and more. As BITNATION moves to a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) model, all barriers to entry will be removed so everyone can be a Contributor. However, new definitions of Ambassadors are necessary, and certain education will be required for these new roles, defined as follows:

BITNATION: Borderless | Decentralized | Voluntary

Bitnation is the world’s first Decentralized Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN). Bitnation started in July 2014 and hosted the world’s first blockchain marriage, birth certificate, refugee emergency ID, World Citizenship, DBVN Constitution and more. The website proof-of-concept, including the blockchain ID and Public Notary, is used by tens of thousands of Bitnation Citizens and Embassies around the world. Bitnation is the winner of UNESCO’s Netexplo Award 2017, and has been featured by the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, BBC, CNN, WIRED, VICE, TechCrunch, The Economist, Russia Today among many others.

Pangea Arbitration Token (PAT)

The Pangea Arbitration Token (PAT) is an ERC20 compatible in-app token for the Pangea Jurisdiction. The PAT token is proof-of-reputation for Citizens, issued when Citizens create a contract, successfully complete a contract or resolve a dispute attached to a contract. PAT is an algorithmic reputation token; an arbitration currency based on performance, rather than purchasing power, popularity, or attention.

SECURE AND TRANSPARENT

PAT is an ERC20 (Ethereum based) industry-standard token, easily integrated with wallets and exchanges. PAT code, the DBVN Multisignature code, and the BITNATION TSE Contract code has all been designed and audited by leading Solidity experts. All contracts are open source and can be found on our GitHub. Funds are secured by Bitcoin Suisse AG in a multisignature wallet.

HARD CAPPED

The PAT TSE will raise funds for Pangea development and to power Bitnation’s ecosystem. 34% of PAT will be sold during the TSE, including a pre-sale. To ensure the token is not diluted, the TSE is hard capped at US $30 Million. This is designed to increase PAT token value as Pangea evolves and gains market adoption.

POWERS PANGEA

More than a third of PAT is reserved to power the Pangea Jurisdiction. Citizens garner non-tradable reputation tokens based on successful contract execution. Arbitrators and contracts also accumulate non-tradable tokens. Citizens are rewarded with PAT for accumulating non-tradable reputation tokens when milestones are reached.
